College Transfer Programs at Rowan-Cabarrus
While many degrees at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College transfer to 4-year institutions, there are six degrees that are considered college transfer degree programs. These are:
- Associate in Arts
- Associate in Arts in Teacher Preparation
- Associate in Engineering
- Associate in Fine Arts in Visual Arts
- Associate in Science
- Associate in Science in Teacher Preparation
Students must earn the grade of “C” or better in all courses taken at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College in order to be eligible to transfer.

The Associate in Arts (AA) degree
Designed for students who want to achieve one or more of the following goals:
- Transfer into a four-year Bachelor of Arts (BA) program
- Earn an associate’s degree that is focused on liberal arts (Humanities and Social Sciences)

The Associate in Arts in Teacher Preparation (AATP) degree
Designed for students who want to achieve one or more of the following goals:
- Transfer into a four-year Bachelor of Arts (BA) program
- Earn an associate’s degree that is focused on teacher preparation

The Associate in Engineering (AE) degree
Designed for students who want to achieve one or more of the following goals:
- Transfer into a four-year Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering program
- Earn an associate’s degree that is focused more heavily on math, science, and technology

The Associate in Fine Arts in Visual Arts (AFA) degree
Designed for students who want to achieve one or more of the following goals:
- Transfer into a four-year Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) or Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts (BAFA) program
- Earn an associate’s degree that is focused on Visual Arts
- Strengthen personal creative work and improve personal portfolio, and/or
- Explore a variety of creative techniques, mediums, and disciplines.
